2018 Walk to Defeat ALS

We're honored to have once again been one of the many participants in the 2018 Greater Philadelphia Walk to Defeat ALS. Thank you to everyone who made the event such an overwhelming success.

2017 ALS AWARENESS MONTH CAMPAIGN

May is National ALS AWARENESS MONTH

This year we decided to focus our fundraising efforts toward The ALS HOPE FOUNDATION, who provide funding for the MDA/ALS Center of Hope and the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory at Temple University College of Medicine. The Foundation also provides educational events, and funds local and international efforts to find the cause and cure of ALS.

The main source of our campaign was to donate a proceed of our sales of windows, roofing, siding, and doors.  We also matched any donation made by our employees, and even received donations from some of our customers!  TOGETHER WE WERE ABLE TO RAISE $1,974! Another successful fundraising campaign!

2016 Walk To Defeat ALS

Another successful year at the Greater Philadelphia Walk to Defeat ALS

This year we were informed that Team Lovely Lisa and Green Star Exteriors were recognized as the THIRD HIGHEST CORPORATE FUNDRAISER.  We can't begin to express how proud we are of this achievement.

We'd like to thank everyone that walked along with us in our second year as a team.  On top of our fundraising accolade, we also set a personal record for participants.  It's great to see what our GREEN STAR FAMILY can achieve together.

Needless to say, we are excited to see how much we can accomplish as a team in the upcoming years.

Green Star Gives Back

This past August, Green Star Exteriors participated in our first ever month-long campaign dedicated to a LOCAL INDIVIDUAL'S ALS cause.  We decided that for the entire month of August 2016 we would donate $1 per window or door sold, $10 per bay/bow window sold, and $1 per square foot of roofing or siding to Christina Mallon's Classy.org fundraising campaign to raise money and awareness for ALS

WE ARE PROUD TO SAY THAT WE RAISED $776.00 FOR CHRISTINA'S CAMPAIGN.

CHRISTINA'S STORY:

Christina, a Ridley Park native and St. Joseph's University graduate, has been diagnosed with a rare subset of ALS called Hirayama Disease.  In the six years since her diagnosis, Christina has developed complete paralysis in both of her arms.  Although her paralysis has hindered her ability to feed and dress herself, Christina has been able to maintain her position at a tech company thanks to the assistance of friends and a personal nurse.

Christina's life goal is to create technology to assist the disabled in living a more fulfilling life, and has started her fundraising campaign with the goal to raise money to find a CURE FOR ALS.  We are with her all the way!

We Walk To Defeat ALS

At Green Star Exteriors, we are proud of the fact that we are a company made up of people People with families.  People with friends.  People with children.  People with parents.  And like most people, we have a cause that we hold near to our heart - THE FIGHT TO CURE ALS.

ALS is a disease that attacks the motor neurons in the brain responsible for controlling muscle movement.  Over 30,000 people in the US are affected by ALS, with 5,000 new cases diagnosed each year.

On November 1, 2015 Green Star Exteriors, along with Team Lovely Lisa, participated in the Greater Philadelphia Walk to Defeat ALS at Citizens Bank Park.  We joined over 5,300 others to walk to raise awareness and money for ALS.  This walk was the first of many ventures that we will be involved with to assist in the search to cure ALS.

2016 Phillies Phestival

We were extremely proud to be a part of the 2016 Phillies Phestival which raised over $718,000 to help strike out ALS.  The 2016 Phestival was held at Citizens Bank Park on Thursday, June 9. The Phestival is a fun-filled autograph and auction party for all ages which is held annually with the goal to strike out ALS, the devastating neuromuscular condition for which there is no known cause or cure. Since 1984, the Phillies have raised over $17 million for The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter's patient services and research.

The fight to treat and cure ALS is something we hold near to our hearts, and it was an honor to be involved with The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter and the Philadelphia Phillies.
